Job Title: Operations Support Analyst
Location: Livingston Plaza, New York, NY – Onsite
Duration: 12 Months (with potential for extension)

Overview:
We are seeking an Operations Support Analyst who will support our NYC client, nights and weekends shifts.
This role supports 24x7 technology operations by monitoring critical hardware, software, databases, facility conditions, and infrastructure alerts; opening tickets; running approved scripts; and assisting system administrators with issue resolution. The position also supports alarm and alert optimization to reduce nuisance notifications and ensure actionable alerts reach the appropriate teams.
Duties:
  • Monitor critical systems, hardware, software, Oracle and SQL databases, server CPU/memory/storage utilization, facility temperature alerts, HP servers, and APC NetBotz devices across agency environments.
  • Open and update support tickets as needed, escalate operational issues, and assist system administrators with troubleshooting and resolution activities.
  • Run pre-written scripted jobs in multiple environments, including Windows, Linux, and AS/400, in accordance with established operating procedures.
  • Configure and optimize alarms and alerts to reduce nuisance notifications and ensure actionable alerts are routed to the appropriate technical teams.
  • Collaborate with IT facility managers and operations teams to develop and improve monitoring tools and processes for the health of critical systems across a broad range of platforms.
  • Perform onsite support at the primary downtown Brooklyn location and travel to other MTA network or field locations when required.

Mandatory Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant operations support experience.
  • Experience working as part of a 24x7 IT operations team supporting critical systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience monitoring hardware, software, server utilization, databases, and infrastructure/facility alerts.
  • Experience opening support tickets, escalating issues, and assisting system administrators with incident resolution.
  • Experience running pre-written scripted jobs in Windows, Linux, and AS/400 environments.
  • Strong knowledge of basic Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally by phone and email.
  • Ability to work onsite and, after initial training, work the 11:00 PM–7:00 AM overnight shift including weekends.
  • Ability to travel to MTA network and field locations and work at field locations for extended periods when required.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with PuTTY and SolarWinds monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Experience with APC NetBotz devices, HP server monitoring, and facility temperature alerting.
  • Experience selecting, installing, or upgrading field hardware.
  • Experience supporting or developing monitoring tools for SQL and Oracle database environments.
