Structural Staff Engineering Technician - Overhead Transmission

Location: Onsite, 5 days/week (candidate location must be included in candidate summary)

Position Summary

COMPANY is seeking a Structural Staff Engineering Technician to support overhead transmission line and grid infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for developing and modifying transmission models, drawings, and technical deliverables using PLS-CADD and other engineering design tools while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.

Required Qualifications
  • Must have overhead transmission line design experience
  • Must have PLS-CADD experience
  • Diploma or Certificate required
  • Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Ability to work onsite 5 days/week
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and modify engineering drawings, models, and technical deliverables.
  • Create and maintain transmission line designs using PLS-CADD.
  • Apply engineering standards, codes, and established design practices.
  • Perform design calculations, material takeoffs, estimates, and documentation.
  • Review design inputs and deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with engineering and design teams to support project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance to other technicians and engineering professionals.
  • Support continuous improvement, quality initiatives, and field activities as needed.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong overhead transmission design background
  • Experience with BIM, 3D modeling, and engineering design software
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and quality processes
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
