Pay: $100,000 - $120,000 per year

Location: Albertson, NY (100% Onsite)

About the Opportunity

COMPANY is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple structural steel projects from contract award through fabrication, delivery, erection, and closeout. This role requires a strong background in structural steel construction, project management, customer coordination, budgeting, and field operations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, technically proficient, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining profitability and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, Construction Management, or related field
  • 5-7 years of project management experience within structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or commercial construction
  • Strong understanding of steel fabrication, detailing, erection, and construction processes
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and change orders
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings
  • Experience working with Architects, Engineers, General Contractors, and Owners
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of safety requirements and construction site coordination
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and project management software
  • Must be a Green Card Holder
Key Responsibilities Project Administration
  • Review, negotiate, and manage contracts
  • Coordinate insurance requirements with internal teams and customers
  • Identify, price, and negotiate change orders
  • Manage project budgets for labor, materials, and overhead
  • Prepare and submit AIA payment applications and supporting documentation
  • Follow up on payment approvals and collections
Submittals & Design Coordination
  • Review project specifications and communicate requirements to detailing teams
  • Manage detailing partners and oversee shop drawing submissions
  • Ensure engineer comments are incorporated into final fabrication documents
  • Prepare and submit RFIs
  • Develop and maintain site-specific safety plans as required
  • Perform field measurements and site verification when necessary
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to resolve design discrepancies
  • Recommend design modifications that improve fabrication and installation efficiency
Procurement & Material Management
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders for steel, hardware, and specialty materials
  • Coordinate with approved vendors and track deliveries
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy and submit for payment
  • Monitor material availability and procurement schedules
Fabrication & Shop Coordination
  • Develop shop orders and material cutting lists
  • Conduct project kick-off meetings with fabrication and operations teams
  • Track shop production progress and maintain schedule alignment
  • Ensure materials, equipment, and supplies are available without interruption
Customer & Project Coordination
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers regarding project schedules and progress
  • Attend project coordination meetings with owners, contractors, and project stakeholders
  • Coordinate project activities with other trades and construction teams
  • Build strong relationships with customers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
Steel Erection & Field Operations
  • Coordinate field labor, ironworkers, equipment, and project schedules
  • Support crane permits, street closures, and logistical planning
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget
  • Monitor quality control and inspection requirements
  • Resolve punch list items and project closeout activities
  • Assist with accident reporting and customer safety compliance
Business Development
  • Identify opportunities for additional project work
  • Support estimating and pricing for related projects and change orders
  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships
