Dillon Supply Company, a distributor of MRO Industrial, Safety, and Steel products, is seeking a high-energy, self-starter to build and maintain a profitable sales territory in the Hudsonville, MI market. The customer base consists of Industrial, Metal working, PVF and Construction related companies.
Outside Sales Representative Role
The Outside Sales Representative shall be responsible for procuring and maintaining customer relationships. Success will be defined by driving customer sales within their defined territory.
Responsibilities
  • Select the correct products and assist customers in making product selections based on needs, specifications and regulations
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling and service strategies and marketing information
  • Maintain customer contact for service and product needs and communicate any changes or concerns to the service manager or assigned sales representative
  • Arrange delivery of products and equipment
  • Ability to repair or replace defective equipment parts using the necessary tools and equipment
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance for customers
  • Diagnose mechanical problems- ability to read schematics
  • Conduct tool inventory at customer locations as required
  • Communicate parts needs to appropriate buyer
  • Represent the company with integrity
  • All other responsibilities assigned

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This role works in an office environment and within a car. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required to lift up to 20 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance. While in a warehouse setting, the employee may be exposed to the outdoor weather temperature and loud noise. This role may require some weekend or late-night work as the employee is the sole manager responsible for the location's operation and emergency response. Travel requirements are up to 75% of the role.
