About the Position: Farmworker Association of Florida, Inc. (FWAF) is seeking an experienced Civic Engagement & Voter Outreach Coordinator to support our participation in the La Voz de Mi Gente 2026 civic engagement campaign. This is a temporary, high-activity position focused on nonpartisan voter education, voter registration, community outreach, volunteer coordination, and voter mobilization throughout the 2026 election cycle.

The ideal candidate is organized, energetic, comfortable working directly with the public, and able to coordinate a significant amount of outreach activity within a short period of time.

Key Responsibilities: The contractor will: • Conduct nonpartisan voter education and community outreach. • Conduct outreach by phone, text message, and door-to-door canvassing using campaign-provided lists and materials. • Organize and support voter registration activities. • Conduct direct voter outreach and collect voter pledges. • Coordinate phone banking, text banking, and canvassing activities. • Recruit, organize, and coordinate volunteers. • Plan and support community civic engagement events. • Coordinate nonpartisan voter mobilization activities during early voting and Election Day. • Recruit and coordinate volunteers for poll monitoring. • Maintain accurate outreach and volunteer records. • Track progress toward campaign goals and submit regular reports. • Coordinate with FWAF and Hispanic Federation regarding campaign materials, voter lists, training, data, and reporting requirements. 

Campaign Scope & Expectations: This is not a low-volume outreach position. The campaign has ambitious outreach and engagement goals that will require strong organization, consistent community outreach, volunteer coordination, and the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously. The contractor will be expected to make substantial progress toward campaign-wide goals involving: • Direct voter contact and voter education • Voter registration • Voter pledges • Phone banking • Door-to-door canvassing • Text banking • Volunteer recruitment and coordination • Poll monitoring • Community events and voter mobilization. The selected contractor will receive the specific campaign targets, tools, lists, materials, and reporting requirements as part of the contracting process.

Required Qualifications • Experience in community organizing, civic engagement, voter outreach, grassroots organizing, or a related field. • Experience working directly with diverse communities and building relationships. • Experience recruiting and coordinating volunteers. • Experience with door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and/or text banking. • Experience organizing or supporting community events. • Strong organizational and time-management skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple activities and deadlines. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required reports. • Fluent in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages. • Knowledge of and experience working with Central Florida communities. • Experience working with farmworker, immigrant, low-income, or other diverse communities. • Experience with voter outreach, civic engagement, or grassroots campaigns. • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed during the campaign. • Commitment to strictly nonpartisan civic engagement. 

Nonpartisan Requirement This is a strictly nonpartisan position. FWAF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The contractor may provide voter education, encourage civic participation, assist with voter registration, and support nonpartisan voter mobilization, but may not tell people how to vote or support or oppose any candidate or political party. 

Contract Information Contract Start: September 1, 2026 Contract End: November 6, 2026 Total Compensation: $10,000 This is a temporary independent contractor engagement. The selected contractor will be responsible for completing the services and deliverables outlined in the Independent Contractor Agreement and Scope of Work.
