Job description

SENSIS
Who we are:

An integrated cross-cultural marketing agency. We reflect and embrace the cultural diversity of America to develop meaningful marketing programs that drive measurable conversions.
We opened our doors in 1998 (as Focus Multimedia). We got our start building websites and have expanded into a full-service advertising agency, helping our clients take advantage of the fundamental changes taking place in the marketing world - the emergence of digital technologies, expanded multiculturalism, and the transformative impact of social media.
What we are looking for:
Sensis is seeking a Community Engagement & Outreach Manager to plan and execute outreach programs for public-sector, healthcare, transportation, and multicultural marketing initiatives.
This role connects our clients with the communities they serve by developing outreach strategies, building partnerships, coordinating events, facilitating community conversations, and turning feedback into actionable recommendations.
The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder and project manager who is comfortable working with community organizations, public agencies, healthcare partners, local leaders, businesses, and culturally and linguistically diverse audiences. This is a hands-on role that may require local travel and occasional evening or weekend work.
What you'll be doing:
Community Engagement and Partnerships
  • Develop outreach plans aligned with client goals, audience needs, timelines, and budgets.
  • Identify and engage community organizations, public agencies, healthcare providers, schools, businesses, faith-based groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and trusted messengers.
  • Develop outreach materials, presentations, toolkits, talking points, and partner communications.
  • Represent Sensis and its clients at meetings, workshops, coalitions, conferences, and public events.
  • Events and Field Outreach
  • Plan and manage town halls, listening sessions, workshops, health fairs, pop-up events, briefings, and other community activations.
  • Coordinate venues, staffing, vendors, materials, accessibility, language services, and participant communications.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise outreach staff, ambassadors, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Ensure field teams are equipped with approved messaging, materials, and data-collection tools.

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, public health, public administration, community development, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in community engagement, public outreach, public affairs, public health, nonprofit programming, government relations, or grassroots organizing.
  • Experience building relationships with community organizations and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience planning and executing community events and field outreach programs.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, writing, communication, and public-speaking skills.
  • Strong project-management skills and the ability to manage multiple timelines, partners, and priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with culturally, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse communities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting government, healthcare, public health, transportation, education, emergency preparedness, or social-impact programs.
  • Agency or consulting experience.
  • Experience engaging multicultural, limited-English-proficiency, immigrant, rural, underserved, or hard-to-reach communities.
  • Experience managing outreach staff, vendors, volunteers, ambassadors, or subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with language access, transcreation, accessible communications, and culturally responsive engagement.
