Responsibilities
Outpatient Program Coordinator
Outpatient Program Coordinator - Registry/PRN
The Hospital is seeking a registry Outpatient Program Coordinator for our Outpatient Services Department, with locations in Oak Park and on the far south side of Chicago, Chatham. Hours are based on staffing needs and can include daytime and early evening shifts; no weekend coverage required.
The primary responsibilities are as follows:
  • Complete all front-end administrative / reception responsibilities in the outpatient clinic (i.e., answering multi-line phone system, routing calls, managing practice email account, communicating with patients/families/referral sources to schedule appointments, preparation and maintenance of provider schedules and billing ledgers).
  • Responsible for obtaining patient insurance information, verifying benefits, and communicating with patients/families and providers about benefit verification.
  • Submit daily reports regarding clinic appointments and outcomes to the business office for billing.
  • Maintain overall organization of the outpatient clinics (i.e., filing, organizing medical records, responding to records requests, organizing/re-ordering supplies, facilitating payroll submission, and other duties as needed).
  • Provide exceptional customer service over the phone and in person to all patients/families/guests.

Flex position - no benefits.
Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION: Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: 1-3 years admin experience required. Previous experience with healthcare scheduling and/or billing practices strongly preferred.
Licensure/Certification: None
Knowledge: Excellent communication skills and exceptional level of professionalism. trong organizational skills and ability to adeptly work with multiple computer systems simultaneously. Bilingual in Spanish/English a strong plus!!
Job Classification: Non -Exempt
