Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Operations Manager to lead and oversee our Outbound department. The ideal candidate is an experienced operations leader with a proven track record of driving process improvements, building high-performing teams, and solving complex flow challenges in a large-scale facility environment. This role is critical to ensure that our outbound operations run efficiently, accurately, and on time.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee all day-to-day outbound operations, including order fulfillment, shipping, loading, and carrier coordination
  • Develop, implement, and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiency across all outbound workflows
  • Drive accountability through KPI tracking and regular operational reviews, ensuring shipments meet accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery targets

Process Improvement

  • Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and gaps within the outbound flow and lead initiatives to address them.
  • Use data and direct observation to implement continuous improvement strategies, partnering cross-functionally with Inbound, Inventory, Transportation, and IT teams

Team Building & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and frontline associates, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous growth
  • Drive workforce planning includes hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management, while promoting a safety-first work environment

Problem Solving & Flow Management

  • Monitor real-time outbound flow, proactively resolve disruptions, and serve as the primary escalation point for departmental issues
  • Analyze trends in errors, delays, and capacity constraints, develop corrective action plans and collaborate with carrier partners to optimize outbound scheduling

Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations, labor laws, and company policies through regular audits, observations, and incident investigations

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience as an Operations Manager in a distribution, fulfillment, or warehouse environment
  • Proven experience leading process improvement initiatives in a large-scale facility (350,000+ sq. ft. preferred)
  • Strong team building, analytical, and problem-solving skills with experience managing real-time operational flow
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office/Google Suite

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
  • Experience managing high-volume outbound operations with carrier management and load optimization exposure
