What You’ll Do

The Outbound Supervisor manages the Distribution Center in functions such as shipping, equipment operators, replenishment activities, and personnel-related matters within the outbound department to ensure that all functions are performed in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements. 

How you will contribute:

  • Manage all outbound functions within the distribution center, including equipment operators and while maintaining an accurate inventory relating to outbound orders
  • Ensure a safe and productive working environment while recording all transactions in timely and accurate manner in the system
  • Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly activities as required to provide timely fulfillment and shipping of all orders
  • Manage, mentor, and harbor an encouraging environment for the current team and be able to identify the leaders of tomorrow
  • Work in partnership with Traffic Supervisor so the outbound loading of all orders are accurate, on-time and complete shipments, maximizing the efficiencies and accuracies
  • Determine proper staffing levels within the functional area based on the volume and type of work to be completed daily and make recommendations
  • Assist in the management of the temporary staffing plans on a daily basis to ensure adequate resources are available to execute the necessary activities while optimizing productivity and costs
  • Analyze all functional activities and propose cost savings improvements.  Manage costs within budget, and as agreed with the Operations Senior Management team
  • Maintain and enforce appropriate policies and procedures to ensure accurate information is recorded in Oracle in a timely manner
  • Monitor the work performance of each employee to ensure that quality and quantity expectations are met and exceeded
  • Provide ongoing training/retraining of employees to ensure that they are prepared to meet or exceed the productivity standards for their function
  • Provide timely positive recognition as well as timely progressive counseling
  • Hold self and employees accountable to achieve required goals
  • Provide a safe work environment, and enforce all company policies and OSHA safety rules and policies
  • Other duties may be assigned

You will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or comparable experience preferred
  • 5 plus years prior supervisory experience in an automated distribution/ manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (RF, WMS, Red Prairie, Exceed, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of good warehouse practices and principles, OSHA regulations, and efficient packing/repacking methods
  • Strong computer skills (PC and main frame applications)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.  Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Salary range: $71,000 - $75,000 (DOE)
