JSI invites you to join our team as an OSP Inspector on our Fiber Design & Implementation team in Maui, Hawaii, where you'll play a critical role in advancing broadband and telecommunications initiatives that expand connectivity and drive digital inclusion—while advancing your career within a mission-driven, growth-focused organization.
Position Overview:

In this role, you will collaborate closely with construction crews, project managers, and permitting agencies to support the successful buildout of fiber infrastructure across the U.S.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring daily construction activities to ensure fiber placement (aerial, buried, underground) follows engineering prints and customer specifications.
  • Verifying cable sequential numbers, handhole/pedestal installation accuracy, and documenting GPS coordinates and as-built data.
  • Preparing and submitting daily reports and project documentation.
  • Resolving design and staking sheet problems that arise during construction and, when necessary, interpreting company guidelines for specific applications.
  • Communicating with landowners, permitting agencies, and internal departments as needed.
  • Supporting schedule coordination, workflow monitoring, and cost tracking efforts.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience in telecommunications inspection, construction, and/or engineering.

  • Must be willing to travel and work overtime as required. A reliable vehicle is required.
  • Must be a current resident of the island of Maui.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with RUS telecommunications inspection is preferred.

Benefits and Compensation
  • Competitive salary + performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
  • Generous PTO and travel support.
  • Ongoing professional development and educational opportunities.
