Job description

OSP Fiber Inspector — Memphis, TN

4 Openings | Direct Hire | Full Benefits + PTO | Major Broadband Buildout

Join the team building Memphis's next-generation fiber network.

Our client — a national leader in broadband construction — is scaling up for one of the largest fiber deployments in the Memphis metro. They're hiring 4

OSP Fiber Inspectors as direct, permanent hires — not contract, not 1099, not "temp-to-maybe." Real jobs with real benefits.

If you know your way around aerial and underground fiber construction and want stability with a company that's not slowing down anytime soon, this is worth 5 minutes of your time.

Why This Role

  • Permanent placement — full-time employee status from day one
  • Full benefits package — medical, dental, vision
  • Paid time off — because burnout doesn't build fiber networks, people do
  • Large-scale project — high visibility work with a top-tier broadband contractor
  • Career runway — this employer is actively growing in the Southeast; inspectors here move into senior QC, field supervision, and PM tracks

What You'll Do

  • Inspect aerial and underground OSP fiber construction for compliance with client specs, industry standards, and safety codes
  • Verify proper installation of fiber cable, splice enclosures, handholes, vaults, and related infrastructure
  • Review as-built documentation and redline drawings for accuracy
  • Identify and document construction deficiencies; coordinate corrective action with crews
  • Conduct OTDR testing and review splice loss reports (preferred, not always required)
  • Maintain daily inspection logs and reporting for project stakeholders
  • Ensure jobsite safety compliance (OSHA, traffic control, utility locates)

What You Bring

  • Prior experience as an OSP Fiber Inspector, QC Technician, or Fiber Construction Inspector
  • Working knowledge of aerial and underground fiber construction methods
  • Ability to read and interpret construction prints, staking sheets, and permits
  • Familiarity with OTDR testing and splice loss analysis (a plus)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying field conditions
  • Strong attention to detail — this is quality control, not a rubber stamp
