Overview
Job Specifics

The division of Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children's Hospital of Illinois (CHOI) is looking for a surgeon to join their practice. CHOI is a tertiary hospital and the home for University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP). The division currently has two fellowship trained surgeons and offers a broad spectrum of surgical interventions including open and endoscopic airway repair, navigated sinus surgery, endoscopic choanal atresia repair, cochlear implantation, bone anchored hearing aids, and ossicular chain reconstruction. In addition to outpatient clinics the division also provides inpatient consultation to pediatrics, PICU, CVICU, and a level 3 NICU.


We also participate in Multidisciplinary clinics through an integrated space adjacent to our clinic. Unique to our base hospital is Jump Trading and Simulations Center, a large 168000 sq foot simulation center with support for teaching and research. Through our affiliation we UICOMP there are opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and fellows an academic appointment is available if so desired. Employer M/F/Vet/Disabled

  • Full time, clinical base salary pay range for this position: $534,000 - $565,000.
    • Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.

CHOI serves a population base of approximately 4.5 million, is a Level One trauma center and is the only pediatric hospital within OSF Healthcare system. With 136 beds and more than 140 pediatric subspecialists, OSF Children's Hospital cares for more children in Illinois than any hospital outside of Chicago. Formally established as a pediatric hospital within the walls of OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center in 1990, OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois has more than 7,000 inpatient admissions, 75,000 outpatient specialty visits, 2,400 newborn deliveries, and 18,000 emergency department visits each year


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) to practice medicine in current state.
  • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
  • Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty(ies).
  • Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
  • Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
  • Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served.
