  • JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
    • Job Summary:
      • Uses current evidence-based knowledge and skills to conduct physical assessments/examinations and to develop and implement treatment plans for acute and chronically ill patients of all ages. Collaborates with multiple practices and clinical teams within the Calvert Health System and throughout the community. Oversees and performs preventative services and develops and presents culturally sensitive educational presentations on preventative topics for the local community. Oversees point-of- care testing and health risk assessment biometrics and provides intervention as needed.
    • Education:
      • Position requires a Master of Science in Nursing
    • Registration/Certification/Licensure:
      • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse Practitioner License.
      • Board Certification in field of practice
      • Current CPR certification
    • Experience:
      • Preferred 3-5 years clinical experience as Nurse Practitioner
      • Experience should include working autonomously for an independent practice.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
      • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to provide effective clinical management and appropriate patient care under the scope of practice defined instate and national certification guidelines.
      • Demonstrates ability to manage own case load and work independently.
      • Acts in accordance with legal and ethical professional responsibilities (e.g. patient management, documentation, advance directives).
      • Demonstrates ability to prescribe appropriate drugs and dosages.
      • Demonstrates ability to process a variety of patient care situations.
      • Documents continuing education per licensure and certification requirements and clinical protocols.
      • Attends staff meetings.
      • Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as daily practice.
      • Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as daily practice.
