Responsibilities
  • Call pre-operative patients to collect health/medical history and verify they are a candidate for outpatient surgery
  • Notify the RN of any changes in patient's status and responses.
  • Data entry.
  • Filing and organizing Medical Records.
  • Answer phones.
  • Organizing paperwork.
  • Uploading files in a timely manner.
  • Other business office and clinical functions as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, clinical or medical teammates.
  • Maintains positive communications with the medical staff members and their office personnel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with attention to detail and
    the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within established deadlines.
  • Clear any medical concerns with the medical director.
  • Maintain competencies to function in MA role within specific area.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed and/or requested by Manager.
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
  • Comply with the SCA and facility policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the team and other
    stakeholders.
  • Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health
    information.
  • Comply with all SCA and facility policies and procedures, regulatory and accreditation standards
    and professional guidelines when providing patient care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • One year of Medical Assistant/ Nursing Assistant/ Patient Care Tech experience preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (MA).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
