Their duties can include scheduling meetings, recruiting volunteers, securing venues, and promoting activities. Organizers are essential in fields like community activism, political campaigns, and nonprofit work, helping to mobilize people and resources effectively.

What is an organizer?

Some professionals may also sell organizing equipment such as bins and shelves.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an organizer, and why are they important?

This collaborative approach ensures that all aspects of the event or project run smoothly and that objectives are met efficiently.

Job description

Accounting Coordinator – Part-Time

Prosperity Workforce Solutions
Part-Time | 15–20 Hours per Week
$25.00–$30.00 per hour

About the Role

Prosperity Workforce Solutions is looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Part-Time Accounting Coordinator to join our team.

The primary focus of this role will be managing weekly invoicing for one of our major healthcare clients, Interior Health. You'll be responsible for reviewing timesheets and supporting documentation, preparing accurate invoices, reconciling billing information, and making sure everything is submitted correctly and on time.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys working with numbers, spreadsheets, and detailed processes. You don't need to be a CPA or have extensive accounting experience — we're looking for someone who is reliable, organized, comfortable with Excel, and very good at catching the small details.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Prepare and process weekly client invoices
  • Review employee and contractor timesheets for accuracy
  • Verify hours, rates, assignments, expenses, and other billing information
  • Reconcile timesheets and invoicing records against internal records
  • Ensure invoices include all required supporting documentation
  • Review receipts and reimbursable expenses for completeness
  • Track invoices and maintain accurate billing records
  • Identify discrepancies before invoices are submitted
  • Follow up internally regarding missing timesheets, receipts, approvals, or documentation
  • Process invoice corrections and adjustments when required
  • Maintain organized electronic invoicing and accounting records
  • Assist with accounts receivable and other accounting administration as required
  • Help improve and streamline our invoicing processes as we continue to grow
What We're Looking For

Must Have:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet weekly deadlines
  • Comfortable following up with team members when information or documentation is missing
  • Strong written communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience with invoicing, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, payroll, or accounting administration
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Experience reviewing timesheets or payroll information
  • Experience with healthcare, staffing, recruitment, or another business with high-volume invoicing
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field

Previous accounting experience is an asset, but we're also open to someone earlier in their career who is highly organized, comfortable with numbers, and eager to learn.

Schedule

This is a part-time position of approximately 15–20 hours per week.

There is flexibility in how the hours are scheduled; however, this position is responsible for recurring weekly invoicing deadlines, so availability on key invoicing days is required.

Compensation

$25.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience.

We're a collaborative and entrepreneurial team, and we're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, asks questions when something doesn't look right, and enjoys making sure everything is accurate and organized.

If you're the type of person who spots when a number doesn't match, enjoys getting everything reconciled, and loves a well-organized spreadsheet, we'd love to hear from you.
