Job Description: Order Selector


Position Summary
The Order Selector is responsible for accurately picking, staging, and preparing customer orders for shipment from the distribution center. This role ensures that products are pulled from the correct locations, in the correct quantities, and prepared according to company standards for accuracy, efficiency, and safety. Order Selectors play a critical role in meeting customer expectations by ensuring timely, complete, and damage-free order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order Picking
    ย 
    • Accurately select products from designated pick locations using pick tickets, RF scanners, or ERP/WMS systems.
      ย 
    • Verify product codes, quantities, and descriptions before staging.
      ย 
    • Build pallets or loads in a safe, stable, and organized manner to minimize product damage.
      ย 
    • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment as required.
      ย 
  • Order Staging & Preparation
    ย 
    • Wrap, label, and stage completed orders in designated outbound lanes.
      ย 
    • Coordinate with loaders and drivers to ensure timely order dispatch.
      ย 
    • Follow proper loading sequence for multi-stop deliveries.
      ย 
  • Accuracy & Quality
    ย 
    • Ensure all orders meet company standards for accuracy and completeness.
      ย 
    • Report shortages, overages, or product damage immediately to the warehouse lead or supervisor.
      ย 
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in pick areas and staging zones.
      ย 
  • Collaboration & Communication
    ย 
    • Participate in daily warehouse huddles to align on priorities and shift goals.

    • Communicate effectively with leads, clerks, and drivers to ensure smooth handoffs.

    • Provide feedback on order accuracy, product slotting, or workflow improvements.

Schedule & Reporting
  • Full-time, warehouse shift schedule (second shift often focused on order pulling and truck loading).

  • Reports directly to the Warehouse Lead or Operations Manager.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly rate based on experience ($14.50 - $18/hr starting).

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required). ย 
  • 1-3 years of warehouse, distribution, or order picking experience preferred. ย

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. ย 
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on speed and accuracy. ย 
  • Basic computer or scanner operation skills (ERP/WMS experience a plus).
