Job description

Orbus, is a leading and highly successful manufacturer and trade distributor of products and services to the tradeshow and display industries. We are a visual communication disrupter providing products and services to help speak a company's brand and vision! We are headquartered in Woodridge, IL and seeking a Print Production Supervisor for our North Las Vegas facility.
The right candidates will possess strong communication and managerial skills as well as great leadership abilities. We are an aggressively growing company looking for candidates seeking long-term employment that will mature and develop with our business and who wants to be rewarded for their positive contribution. This is an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to further their management career in the large format digital print industry.
We are looking for someone to operate and maintain several large/grand format digital inkjet printers. These include Dye Sub, UV Flatbed and Grand Format UV roll to roll printers. The right candidate will ensure production goals are met by directing and optimizing the workflow of the entire shift. The right person will also ensure that all policies and procedures are followed and will be confident supervising the duties of other employees.
**2nd shift Schedule (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm)**
Daily/General Tasks:

  • Management responsibility of the print department and maintains a high level of quality by:
  • Hold print operators accountable for printer maintenance and cleanliness of machine and workspace.
  • Work to reduce material waste.
  • On-time delivery of projects for both internal and external customers.
  • Print Operators must produce high quality prints (correct color output, material, size, etc).
  • Responsible for following work instructions on orders & completing all printing tasks required on a particular graphic.
  • Responsible for managing printer maintenance, fixing printer equipment when problems occur and machines are down, and communicating all issues with Management.
  • Assigns and delegates daily cleaning departmental tasks to team.
  • Check ink, supplies, and material inventory and communicate any concerns or issues with Assistant Print Production Manager.
  • Communicate the status of the print room with other shift supervisor at the end of the day (such as printer issues, large orders, and anything left to print for the day).
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience with large-format print equipment and solid knowledge of UV, latex, heat press, or dye-sublimation printing processes.
  • Experience running and maintaining equipment in a production environment.
  • Working knowledge with color management and color profiling.
  • Working knowledge of RIP software, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with EFI, Durst, Reggiani, or HP grand format printers are a plus.
  • Supervisory experience with a small team (5-10 people)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Job requires significant standing time.
  • Attention to detail & ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
