Overview

The Senior Payroll Tax Analyst serves as the payroll tax subject matter expert for US Payroll. This highly hands-on role is responsible for payroll tax filings, tax withholding compliance, agency notice resolution, payroll tax audits, Oracle payroll tax testing, and payroll tax reporting. The role partners closely with Payroll Operations, Finance, HRIS, and the Payroll Manager operations and payroll manager-Projects & Transformation to ensure payroll tax processes are accurate, compliant, and efficient.


How you'll make an impact

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented payroll tax professional with deep ADP payroll tax expertise, strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance, working knowledge of Oracle Payroll, and familiarity with payroll accounting and GL outputs.

Primary Responsibilities

Payroll Tax Operations (70%)

  • Manage payroll tax filings and withholding compliance.
  • Coordinate payroll tax activities with ADP payroll tax services.
  • Research and resolve federal, state, and local agency notices.
  • Support payroll tax audits and provide required documentation.
  • Review payroll tax balances, liabilities, and reconciliations.
  • Support quarter-end and year-end tax activities, including W-2 reporting.

Payroll Systems & Testing (20%)

  • Participate in Oracle payroll tax and payroll element testing.
  • Validate payroll tax calculations following Oracle updates and enhancements.
  • Support payroll tax-related system implementations and projects.
  • Partner with the Payroll Manager, Projects & Transformation on initiatives impacting payroll taxes.

Payroll Accounting & Reporting (10%)

  • Review payroll costing and General Ledger outputs.
  • Support payroll accruals and payroll accounting reconciliations.
  • Validate payroll tax reports, interfaces, and file extracts.
  • Partner with Finance to resolve payroll accounting issues.

About You

Required Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of payroll tax experience supporting multi-state payrolls.
  • Extensive experience with ADP SmartCompliance or ADP payroll tax services (required).
  • Experience with Oracle Payroll or Oracle Cloud HCM (strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Experience resolving payroll tax agency notices and audits.
  • Knowledge of payroll accounting, General Ledger (GL) interfaces, payroll costing, and reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
