Job description

Position: Oracle Financials Functional Consultant

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Duration: Long term contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Financials Functional Consultant with deep expertise in General Ledger (GL) to support implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of Oracle Financials for enterprise clients. The consultant will partner with finance leadership and technical teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient period-close processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support configuration and maintenance of Oracle General Ledger (GL)
  • Assist with:
  • Chart of Accounts (COA)
  • Accounting calendars and currencies
  • Journal entries, recurring journals, and allocations
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities
  • Help validate GL postings from sub-ledgers (AP, AR, FA)
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions with finance users
  • Prepare and maintain functional documentation (setup docs, test cases)
  • Execute and support SIT and UAT testing
  • Assist with troubleshooting GL-related issues and data discrepancies
  • Work closely with technical teams on reports, interfaces, and data loads
  • Provide day-to-day production support under guidance from senior team members

Required Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience as an Oracle Financials Functional Consultant
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle GL (EBS R12 and/or Oracle Fusion Financials)
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles (GL, debits/credits, accruals)
  • Exposure to financial close and reconciliation processes
  • Experience supporting Oracle Financials in a production environment
  • Good documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite or hybrid in Los Angeles, CA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to Subledger Accounting (SLA)
  • Experience with AP, AR, or Fixed Assets integrations
  • Oracle Financials or Oracle Fusion GL certification (nice to have)
  • Experience in consulting or client-facing roles

Nice to Have:

  • Basic knowledge of BI Publisher / OTBI reports
  • Exposure to data loads using ADI or FBDI
  • Basic SQL knowledge for troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Oracle AIM / OUM methodology
