Job description

The Behavioral Health Aide provides supportive services to behavioral health staff and assists in maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and structured environment for patients. This position supports daily operations within the behavioral health unit by observing patient behavior, assisting with patient movement and activities, and ensuring compliance with facility rules, safety procedures, and healthcare standards.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist behavioral health staff in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Observe and report patient behavior, mood changes, and unusual activity to clinical staff
  • Assist with patient movement and coordination within the facility as directed
  • Support behavioral health programming and daily unit activities
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation as assigned
  • Monitor unit activity and report safety or security concerns immediately
  • Assist in de-escalating behavioral situations under the direction of clinical staff
  • Ensure compliance with facility rules, safety protocols, and organizational policies
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and facility information
  • Participate in required trainings, meetings, and drills
  • Provide professional and respectful interaction with patients, staff, and visitors
  • Perform other duties as assigned
