GENERAL FUNCTION
The Sr. Manufacturing Operations Manager directs the manufacture of prescription eyewear in a high volume, 24 hour production environment. Leads supervisors and production teams to successfully achieve daily performance goals and objectives established by facility leaders. Maintains a safe working environment and promotes a culture of associate engagement that provides opportunities for growth and advancement.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises direct reporting staff according to EssilorLuxottica Characteristics
  • Formulates department/lab specific policies and practices
  • Provides a safe working environment for all associates
  • Responsible for the achievement of lab/department productivity and quality goals
  • Sets performance objectives using key leading & lagging metrics
  • Establishes and maintains controls
  • Manages projects as assigned by the Director
  • Assigns priorities & manages projects including scope, schedules & deadlines
  • Delegates projects to appropriate associates & empowers them
  • Determines staffing requirements and coordinates hiring activities
  • Recommends & supports training as appropriate for departments
  • Counsels associates to develop skills within their potential
  • Plans and implement procedures and systems to continuously improve Operations
  • Coordinates financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency
  • Develops justifications & cost benefits analyses
  • Facilitates the preparation and analysis of reports
  • Organizes and manages business meetings

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years optical/manufacturing experience
  • 7+ years supervisory experience
  • Record of solid contributions through sound leadership qualities & interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of human resource management principles and procedures
  • Good planning/organizational skills with emphasis on strategic planning
  • Excellent ability to analyze information & recognize early warning signals of problems in technical environment followed by sound problem solving skills
  • Good judgment and decision making skills
  • Detail oriented with ability to organize multiple projects/tasks at once with multiple deadlines
  • Knowledge of basic economic and accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge in all phases of lens manufacturing equipment
  • Proficient in relevant software applications
  • Good oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Preferred)
  • 7+ years optical/manufacturing experience

Pay Range: $114,788.30 - 132,637.26
