GENERAL FUNCTION
The primary focus of this position is to support the Department Supervisor by overseeing Lab Technicians in the assigned department. All duties and procedures are to be performed according to the established standard and in compliance with all company and governing body policies. This position is expected to act as a resource, helping direct the work on the floor, train group members and resolve issues as they arise. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Acquires and maintains a detailed understanding of the products, processes and equipment within the assigned area
  • Demonstrates a high degree of discipline, integrity and work ethic to members of the team
  • Leads activities for associate techs, production techs, and sr. production techs
  • Ensures Associates are following all processes for their assigned location, including safety procedures
  • Resolves process problems to affect minimum downtime and maximum process yields, while utilizing established problem solving methods, technical resources and by working with fellow associates and management.
  • Supports supervisors in meeting daily production goals
  • Performs all necessary routine maintenance, including planning and tracking, utilizing maintenance management software, and assisting maintenance technicians with machinery upkeep as needed
  • Provides production data as required for the functional area
  • Provides support and maintains open communication with facility management, and other location teams
  • Performs or directs calibration of all equipment & tooling, maintaining documentation per ISO Standards for all DST equipment and processes
  • Supports their team, to consistently meet Key Operating Measures such as Quality Control, Breakage Costs, Equipment Utilization, and On-time delivery.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as assigned by leaders
  • Actively reviews workforce by tracking relevant metrics in order to direct associates effectively.
  • Solicits associates for feedback on missed opportunities and successes
  • Makes recommendations on potential development opportunities for associates

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
To be a good fit for the Group Lead opportunity, you will have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 2 to 3 years of related work experiences, such as in production or distribution. Experience in optical lab settings is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism
  • Demonstrated competency in the use of diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot, control systems, robotics, and automated equipment
  • Competency in Windows based architecture and with Microsoft Applications
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a disciplined structured work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to show up for scheduled work as assigned
  • Able to rotate from sitting and standing for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours per day)
  • Ability to bend or twist as needed
  • Able to use of repetitive motion of hands and wrists
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Strong communication (oral and written) skills
  • Ability to Communicate and write in English
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational abilities.

Pay Range: 22.27 - 34.19
