Job Description

The Lab Operations Manager is responsible for the flow of Retail and Ecommerce orders in the optical lab . In partnership with the N.A. Lab Manager, this role is responsible for successfully leading lab teams to meet quality and service levels.


Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, Inventory Control, Logistics, Lab Order Management, Internal & External Communication, and Customer Service.


The lab coordinators will report to the Lab Operations Manager. The omni-channel lab coordinators will process all retail and MOSCOT.COM orders for the surface and finishing lab.


Tasks & Responsibilities

Lab Operations

  • Maintain the organization and timely execution of surface and finishing orders for all dependent sales channels
  • Confirm that orders are prepared daily โ€“ correct color work tray, frame & lens selection, and by promise date
  • Assist in the management and organization of lab supplies.
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations team on all orders processed in SAP
  • Collaborate with logistics team on daily deliveries to shops and customers.
  • Confirm all work trays for all orders are prepared for lab technicians
  • Partner with NA Lab Manager on flow and delivery of surface lens orders
  • Partner with NA Lab Manager and cross train on technical management tasks.


Communication

  • Responsible for timely updates to order status of lab tickets in all systems.
  • Provide communication to Shop Managers and team regarding any exceptions to orders.
  • Facilitate communication with warehouse operations team
  • Streamline communication in Lab environment and collaborate with Lab Technicians on timely execution of orders


Customer Service

  • Communicate any delays/updates to sales teams
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations teams
  • Assist Shop Managers/Opticians with urgent requests/exceptions
  • Provide the MX to all internal and external customers


Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and support lab supervisors, technicians, and support staff
  • Establish performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations
  • Build a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Manage time and attendance


Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelorโ€™s degree preferred (Operations, Business, or related field)
  • 3+ years of experience in an optical lab or manufacturing environment
  • 2โ€“3+ years in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong understanding of optical lab processes and production workflows
  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaking.


Location: Farmingdale, NY

Hours: On-site full-time position M-F 8a-4p

Base Salary: Starting at $60,000/annual
