Job description

WRA is currently looking for motivated civil engineering students to join our Transportation - Bridge team in our Raleigh, NC office.  This is an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience working alongside our experienced bridge engineering team on a variety of transportation projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers with the design and analysis of highway and transit-related bridges and structures.
  • Support project teams with preparing plans, reports, and calculations.
  • Perform fieldwork including bridge inspections and data collection, as needed.
  • Conduct research and apply engineering principles to solve real-world design challenges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a professional engineering environment.

Requirements:  

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Strong interest in bridge and transportation engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); exposure to engineering software (e.g., MicroStation, AutoCAD, or structural analysis programs) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
