Job description

Title: Director of Sales, East - Ophthalmology

Territory: Eastern US, managing a team of 8-9 Territory Managers. 

Company: Global leader in ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic technology, developing advanced solutions that help eye-care professionals detect, monitor, and manage eye diseases. Combining engineering, clinical research, and collaboration with eye-care professionals to deliver high-quality imaging and data solutions used in more than 120 countries.

Description:

Responsible for directing regional sales activities throughout assigned region and team. 

  • Develop and implement sales policy and plans.
  • Foster good customer relations and delivering business outcomes.
  • Direct sales activities and new business development for the organization.
  • Implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals and secure new business.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
  • Interface with Marketing to analyze emerging new technology and products.
  • Review market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
  • Plan and evaluate sales performance against budget.
  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Meet with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Act as a liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
  • Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Communicate monthly revenue activities to management including current and planned field activities to accomplish strategic and tactical goals.
  • Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.
  • Responsible for establishing performance standards, employee coaching and development, determining employee responsibilities, evaluating performance and rewarding as appropriate, disciplining and recommending termination when necessary. Identify recruits and retain top-notch talent.
  • Perform ride-alongs with field sales teams to develop clinical, product and sales competencies.
  • Conduct customer on-site training on occasion.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience, selling and leading teams in the clinical office setting (ophthalmology experience highly preferred)
  • Completed 4 year college degree
  • Ability to travel weekly with team
  • Experience improving culture and improving customer experiences
  • Proven progressive career responsibilities and sales successes, with documentation
  • Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail

Compensation:

Base salary depending on experience $140-150k, total compensation after commissions is $250k-$270k at plan Plus Full Benefits Package.
