Job description

You’ll be the person who keeps our operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably, ensuring customers get the propane they depend on while protecting our team and community. Your work directly impacts service reliability, team performance, and regulatory compliance every single day. If this role is done well, customers don’t have to think about us, they just trust us.

What You’ll Do

You’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of our service center, including the yard, fleet, and field activity, while partnering closely with the General Manager to improve performance across safety, customer experience, and efficiency.

You’ll coordinate routing and dispatch, maintain equipment and facilities, lead safety compliance efforts, and support hiring and development of team members.

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
  • You’ve assessed current routes and implemented at least one measurable improvement in delivery efficiency or on-time performance
  • All safety certifications, trainings, and compliance requirements are current, tracked, and consistently enforced
  • The yard, fleet, and service center are clean, organized, and fully operational with no major maintenance gaps
  • Team members understand expectations, receive regular feedback, and know how their work connects to broader goals
What You’ll Actually Do in Your First 30 Days
  • Shadow drivers and operations staff to understand routing, delivery workflows, and customer expectations
  • Audit safety procedures, certifications, and equipment to identify any compliance risks or gaps
  • Review current routing plans and dispatch processes to spot inefficiencies or quick wins
  • Build relationships with the team and begin participating in hiring, onboarding, and coaching conversations
Must Have
  • Experience overseeing operations in propane, energy, logistics, or a closely related field
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards, ideally involving hazardous materials
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team and improving operational performance
  • Ability to manage routing, dispatch, or fleet operations
  • Strong communication skills to work across drivers, leadership, and customers
Nice to Have
  • Experience specifically in propane operations
  • Background in route optimization tools or fleet management systems
  • Experience supporting sales or customer retention efforts
  • Experience conducting safety training or certification programs
  • Track record of improving asset utilization or operational efficiency

This role splits time between the office, yard, and field. You’ll regularly be outside inspecting equipment, supporting operations, and working alongside the team in real conditions (including weather and active service environments).

Our Culture

We’re a team that takes safety seriously and looks out for each other; no shortcuts, no exceptions. At the same time, we keep things practical and straightforward: if something can be improved, we expect you to speak up and help fix it.

Pay Rate for this role is $75,000-$80,000 (depending on experience)

We offer a comprehensive benefits program designed to support your physical, financial, and family wellbeing. Eligible employees can customize coverage from:

  • Dental and voluntary vision coverage
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

  • Supplemental Life/AD&D
  • Voluntary Short‑Term Disability
  • 401(k) with company match

No‑cost benefits include:

  • Paid holidays and paid time off
  • $50,000 Basic Life/AD&D
  • Long-term disability
