Operations Manager - Airline


Classification: Exempt

Location: Jamaica, New York

Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000

Job Description

The Airline Operations Manager is responsible for an extremely high volume unit coordinating transportation, dispatch, sanitation, warehouse, equipment setup, to deliver accurate, quality service to our customers. They manage the budget for operations to achieve financial goals, ensure training is effectively administered, compliance with TSA, CBP, and compliance with HACCP plans and regulations. Ensures safety awareness and prevention measure are followed within the facility on a continuous basis to prevent accidents


Essential Functions

  • Process Optimization: Analyzing and improving operational workflows, procedures, and policies to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Team Leadership: Hiring, training, mentoring, and managing staff performance, including scheduling and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Financial Management: support GM and controller in overseeing budgets, reviewing financial reports, managing costs, and tracking KPIs to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Operational Oversight: Managing high volume daily operations, including inventory, procurement, supply chain logistics, production customer performance metrics.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensuring adherence to all company and regulatory agencies’ safety regulations, quality standards, and policies.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • MBA with a concentration in operations management a plus.
  • Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma experience in a Manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Food manufacturing or processing experience a plus
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ broad-based Operations Management
  • Candidate bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
  • Financial management and Leadership skills
  • Effective employee relations skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with ERP software and Microsoft Office suite

This position has supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses

standard office equipment. The facility is widely refrigerated, and work is required inside refrigerated processing areas.
