Snow King Mountain Resort is the iconic Mountain Resort located in the heart of beautiful Jackson Hole, WY and is the first ski area in the state of Wyoming. As a dual seasonal facility, it is home to many summer and winter family friendly attractions. The Snow King Team is looking for people with a love for the outdoors, a desire to learn, and a commitment to excellent service.

Job Description

The Lift & Activity Operations Manager is responsible for the daily leadership, staffing, safety, and operational success of Snow King's winter and summer activity operations. This position supervises lift operators and activity staff, ensures safe and efficient operations, develops employees, and works closely with maintenance and mountain operations leadership to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities (But not limited to)
  • Demonstrates teamwork and support for management
  • Monitors lifts and personnel for compliance- this would include all signage and licensing, normal and evacuation procedures, opening, operating, and closing procedures
  • Ensure all operational logs, inspections, training records, and regulatory documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Responsible for scheduling and ensuring that all lifts and activities are fully staffed each day
  • Promotes a strong guest-service culture by leading by example and ensuring Lift & Activity Operations employees consistently provide friendly, professional, and welcoming service.
  • Empower and Lead employees to create positive guest experiences
  • Activities include- Chairlifts, Gondola, Tube Park, Mountain Coaster, Alpine Slide
  • Responsible for staffing on mountain concerts and events
  • Alpine Slide and Mountain Coaster cart repair
  • Participates in all phases of the lift operator’s job- helps open, operate and close lifts as needed
  • Conducts and oversees employee training and ensures all required training records are completed accurately and maintained to meet company, regulatory, U.S. Forest Service, and applicable insurance requirements.
  • Build a positive, accountable team culture
  • Must be flexible with schedule to accommodate opening and closing needs and special events
  • Ensure timely and accurate pay for all employees
  • Schedules and assigns work duties
  • Conducts disciplinary procedures and performance appraisals
  • Ensure compliance with ANSI B77 standards and company operating procedures.
  • Performs additional operational duties as required to support the safe and efficient operation of Snow King Mountain Resort
QualificationsEducation, Experience, Certificates & Licenses
  • Must possess excellent people and guest service skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Must be self-motivated and self-assured
  • Must speak, write and read excellent English
  • Experience managing employees preferred
  • Must be cooperative, independent and able to make decisions
  • Must be able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level or above
  • Able to resolve conflict in a constructive manner
  • Lift knowledge and/or supervisory experience preferred
  • Computer skills preferred
  • Valid, current, unrestricted drivers license necessary
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Lifting Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to push/pull 100 pounds
