Position Summary

The General Manager / Operations Manager oversees all aspects of daily operations, ensuring efficient workflow, profitability, and high-quality service delivery. This role provides leadership across departments, including service, installation, sales, finance, and administration, while implementing strategic initiatives, managing budgets, and maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across all company departments, including service, installation, sales, and administrative functions
  • Develop, implement, and enforce operational policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to ensure efficiency and profitability
  • Manage departmental budgets, labor costs, materials, and operational expenses
  • Lead, coach, and mentor department managers and staff to achieve performance goals
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic plans
    Evaluate operational processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost savings
  • Resolve escalated customer issues or operational challenges in a timely and professional manner
  • Review and approve reports, contracts, work orders, and project documentation
  • Oversee hiring, training, and performance evaluations for key staff
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners
  • Ensure the company meets quality, safety, and customer satisfaction goals
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred
  • 5–10 years of experience in management, operations, or leadership roles, preferably in HVAC, construction, or service industries
  • Proven track record of managing multiple departments and leading teams to achieve operational and financial goals

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Additional certifications in management, safety, or industry-specific credentials preferre d

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong leadership, management, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities
  • Knowledge of operational processes, financial management, and business strategy
