Job description

Overview

Role Purpose 

The Duty Manager will be directly responsible for overseeing, ramp supervisors, GSE maintenance, and aircraft maintenance personnel. The Duty Manager will take accountability for safety, resource management, operation standards, policy implementation, client relations, and financial performance. 

What you will be doing 

  • Full accountability to the GM for Health & Safety issues, operational and financial performance 
  • Planning resource allocation in each business unit  
  • Routine liaison with customer representatives  
  • Liaison with internal and external customers and agencies  
  • Producing routine reports  
  • Supporting the development of the business units with accurate and timely project work 
  • Leading the station equipment planning cycle  
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal and external operational and administrative requirements 
  • Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practices especially those relating to safety and security 
  • Must follow all Security procedures as required  
  • Other duties as assigned

You will have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to take reasonable care of the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others in accordance with provided information, training, and workplace health and safety rules or procedures. As such the Company prohibits such misuse and carries out regular testing to enforce our Substance Misuse Policy. 

What we are looking for: 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience  
  • Prior Ramp experience required  
  • Prior management, supervisory or lead experience in the Aviation industry preferred  
  • Must be 18 years of age or older  
  • Possess and maintain a valid US driver's license with a clean driving record 
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing  
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English  
  • Excellent communication skills  
  • Able to remain calm under pressure  
  • Must excel in time management skills and require minimal supervision  
  • Able to work with a multinational work force, and to adjust to the local conditions of the station.  
  • Excellent knowledge of cargo/ramp GSE  
  • A working knowledge of the IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement  
  • Aptitude to develop the supervisory team, provide succession planning, and re-engineer business processes as demanded by changes in the business  
  • Able to support other stations as required and ensure own station responsibilities are covered when on leave  
  • A proven track record in managing a business unit  
  • Must be comfortable frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70lbs.  
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions  
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays  
  • Report any significant deficiency in our products, materials and documents  
  • Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practices especially those relating to safety and security  
  • Organizing and planning skills, with the ability and initiative to react effectively and quickly to unexpected circumstances
