Job description

Hexcel is currently seeking an Operations Manager for our Burlington, WA location. Hexcel Burlington fosters a strong plant culture centered on safety, inclusion, and teamwork to deliver consistent results. We are seeking an Operations Manager who thrives in a manufacturing environment and leads through collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for driving daily operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while meeting business objectives. The Operations Manager leads cross-functional teams, manages performance and resources, and drives process improvements. Full-time benefits include health coverage, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401(k) with company match, paid sick time, paid holidays, and paid vacation.
Summary pay range: $106,114 - $181,910 annual salary.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
  • Maintains a safe, clean, organized and secure work environment. Actively supports and interacts monthly and/or plant refresher safety training using available resources and prescribed goals to determine and subsequently help eliminate actual and potential safety issues, unsafe acts and/or conditions to preclude accidents, to keep Hexcel employees safe, and to achieve the Department/Plant and/or corporate safety goals and objectives. Strong focus on behavior-based safety through sound leadership, adherence to observation programs and proactive balanced real-time feedback and actions.
  • Develop processes to fully meet customer requirements, giving cost, quality, delivery, safety and equal moral consideration. Solves problems using cross-functional teams and utilizing continuous improvement techniques (LEAN and Six Sigma tools).
  • Effectively monitors, manages, reports, and communicates plant capacity including both human and physical resources. Identifies any capital needs to support operational objectives in the short-, medium-, and long-term time horizons.
  • Establishes Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time bound (SMART) objectives, and monitor progress through effective follow-through, linking to Plant and Strategic Objectives. Manages Business Objectives to meet strategic plans. Prepares and communicates monthly and quarterly production targets including deliveries and lates on an ongoing basis. Inspires, develops and retains subordinates to create a strong succession plan and pool of professional talent.
  • Work with production personnel daily with an emphasis on strong, positive employee engagement.
  • Lead Operations role in proactive participation in customer and industrial audits (e.g. AS9100, Nadcap, ISO etc.) to ensure compliance.
  • Always operate in compliance with the Hexcel Burlington Quality System and Quality Policy.
  • Comply with Hexcel policies, procedures, and Code of Business Conduct.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Engineering from a 4-year college or university.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible Operations Management or related experience in the Aerospace industry.
  • MBA degree a plus.
  • Previous supervisory experience and job shop experience required.
  • Demonstrated logistics, materials, and supply chain experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated lean implementation success.
  • Must possess strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills and be able to work effectively across all areas of the business.
  • Computer literacy includes proficiency in use of ERP / MES / Power BI and the full Microsoft Office Suite of Products to include strong data analytics using Excel Macros.
