SPA has an immediate or near term need for an IBCS System Protection Systems Engineer. This position will provide Systems Protection Systems Engineer and Subject Matter Expert support for the IFMC IBCS team, managing and implementing system protection and cybersecurity requirements.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the analysis and development of the integration, testing, operations, and maintenance of systems security for IBCS, this role includes supporting the management of IBCS system security and addressing cybersecurity technical risks arising from foreign intelligence collection and adversarial activities. Additional responsibilities include supporting the development and implementation of Technology Area Protection Plans (TAPPs), Program Protection Plans (PPPs), and engineering cybersecurity activities. This position also involves assessing and addressing vulnerabilities across hardware, software, cyber, and cyberspace domains, as well as identifying and mitigating IBCS risks related to supply chain exploitation and reverse engineering. Furthermore, the individual serves as a co-lead for the ITI System Protection Working Group.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field is required
  • 5 or more years of system engineering experience
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Secure system design and configuration
    • Threat modeling and risk assessment
    • Engineering cybersecurity principles
    • Compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST, DISA STIGs)
    • Supply chain risk management
  • Must have an active SECRET security clearance and maintain it throughout employment
