Job description

Job Summary:
The Spa Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the overall daily operation of the spa.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the main point of contact for leads, providers, front desk associates, and back-of-house team.
  • Acts as the leadership point of contact for all departments in the absence of the Director or Manager, as requested by management.
  • Works closely with the leadership team to implement and train associates on policies and procedures, following up to ensure compliance.
  • Direct associates as needed during downtimes to ensure time is productive and utilized efficiently.
  • Reviews daily lineup on a regular basis and works with management and leads to make suggestions, coach, counsel, train, or other to address issues reviewed in the reports.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Understands, upholds, trains, and abides by all policies, guidelines, standards and procedures.
  • Leads by example and demonstrates initiative, taking ownership of challenges and always displaying excellent guest resolution skills.
  • Assists with directing the spa team to always ensure a smooth flow of operation and a satisfactory guest experience.
  • Creates and submits orders for supplies, back bar, retail, or other, and keeps accurate, detailed records on items received, back ordered, or delayed.
  • Follows up on orders with appropriate parties.
  • Reviews packages to ensure all are received before putting them out on the floor.
  • Monitors schedule for proper balancing of appointments, communicating with front desk to ensure this is completed properly.
  • Works with the spa team to ensure the facility is clean, stocked, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Follows up on engineering, housekeeping, and maintenance work orders, ensuring all are updated consistently on progress.
  • Coordinates and communicates with the front desk on back-of-house issues in regard to scheduling or daily appointments.
  • Keeps management informed of all guests, associates, and facility issues.
  • Assist in all aspects of the Spa, including front desk, locker rooms, and/or other areas of operation as needed based on business needs.
  • Monitors public areas to ensure they are well maintained, alerting attendants immediately if in need of attention.
  • Works with the front desk and back of the house to assist with the coordination of special events, packages, site visits, or groups.
  • Ensures Spa is opened and closed down properly each day.
  • Assists with setup, breakdown of events, vendor lunches, and/or other as requested.
  • Works to immediately resolve guest requests, complaints, or concerns to ensure a satisfactory experience.
  • Works closely with spa management to communicate goals, objectives, policies, procedures, prices, and/or other pertinent information to the spa team.
  • Assists with agenda creation for departmental meetings.
  • Acts as Spa representative and attends associate advisory meetings as required, ensuring all associate's needs/requests are shared.
  • Maintains communication board in the break room and dispensaries.
  • Reports and documents observed or known safety hazards, conditions, unsafe procedures, and/or occurrences involving staff or guests that require attention to management immediately.
  • Assists with interviewing, training, counseling, and performance reviews for spa associates.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and contributes toward a quality, respectful, team-oriented work environment.
  • Knows safety procedures and acts as a guide for guests and associates in the event of an emergency.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in hospitality, spa, salon, or related environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, and sitting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Occasionally work in off-site locations other than the spa.
