Job description

Manufacturing Sanitation Operator II

Job Summary: Responsible for all activities involved in maintaining a clean, food-safe environment in the Processing facility, surrounding area, and equipment, as needed. Reports to the Sanitation ATL and indirectly to the Production Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Check Chemical Titrations as a backfill for the Sanitation ATL.
  • Responsible for keeping the chemical room clean and organized.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing both airlocks.
  • Maintain sinks and supplies.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Environmental Cleaning Program.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the floor drains and hoses.
  • Clean eye wash stations.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the assigned equipment, walls, and floors to reduce the possibility of contamination of the product.
  • Responsible for upkeep of the boot sanitizers and hand sanitizer dispensers.
  • Remove and transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Document cleaning on the Manufacturing Cell and Equipment Record.
  • Attend required training and take required tests for the position.
  • Responsible for completing all safety activities, plant meetings, near misses, and BBSs.
  • Complete all job activities following set safety and operational SOP's.
  • Keeps records in accordance with good manufacturing process and local and state laws.
  • Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses, and upholds the culture of Glanbia Nutritionals non-negotiables.

Additional Functions:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Completed the correct tests for Sanitation Operator II.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or related experience.
  • General machine maintenance knowledge.
  • Excellent attendance and safety record.
  • Desire to grow with the company.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and delegate assignments to others.
  • Proficient in personal computer skills, including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to the supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly involves talking or listening, sitting, and the use of hands and fingers.
  • Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms, standing, and walking.
  • Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, and/or kneeling.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials. Involves moderate physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature. Should be able to judge distances and spatial relationships.

Typical Environmental Conditions:

  • May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e., office equipment and light traffic).
  • May work near mechanical moving parts and in cold temperatures.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel limited to the local area.
