Job description

ODW Logistics is a people-focused and customer-driven third-party logistics (3PL) provider committed to delivering seamless end-to-end supply chain solutions. Our extensive range of services include supply chain design and innovation, warehousing, efficient distribution and fulfillment, freight brokerage, transportation management, and specialized e-commerce fulfillment solutions.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations Manager leads one or more large volume operation(s), which may serve a multi-disciplined customer base or multi-facility operations. This position is responsible for employee safety, customer relations, operational oversight, business metrics, staff development support and P&L. They are involved in business development and contracts, along with team leadership initiatives and improvement projects.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Maximize productivity, quality and service throughout operations by utilizing best practices for facility layouts, material handling concepts, technological enhancements and measurements and further communicate changes to office personnel

· Create and report on business plan objectives vs. actual results to senior management and/or clients as required

· Support front-line leaders and employees to grow and develop an eye for attraction and retention of talent

· Arrange staffing needs to ensure distribution centers are staffed correctly

· Ensure safety and efficiency throughout the operation according to customer and employer procedures

· Serve as the point of contact for customer relations and build relationships with customer stakeholders to ensure business needs are executed seamlessly

· Conduct start-up meetings, weekly walk-around reporting, project teams and training to drive corporate culture and keep the team informed on company/building news

· Maintain basic knowledge of all operational functions to instruct/train team members in every department

· Develop continuous improvement processes to streamline operations

· Authorize and monitor operational expenditures

· All other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

· 3 – 5+ years of management/supervisor experience preferred

· Previous experience with staff development, facility layout, multi-shift operations, project management and inventory management preferred

· Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, operations or equivalent education/work experience preferred

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools preferred

· Expert knowledge of warehouse management systems preferred

· Prior P&L exposure and warehouse/transportation experience preferred

Physical & Mental Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee requires the ability to:

· Hear, read and comprehend, write and communicate

· Frequently sit, type and perform repetitive wrist motion

· Frequently stand, walk, bend, squat/kneel, twist/turn or reach on even and uneven surfaces

· Focus (with or without corrective lenses) to see close and distant, along with depth perception capabilities

· Use material handling equipment that must be operated according to specific operation procedures

· Spend 50 – 75% of time on warehouse floor in fast-paced environment
