DEVOPS ENGINEER
Transform technology into opportunity as a DevOps Engineer at GDIT. Shape whats next for mission-critical government projects while shaping whats next for your engineering career.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a DevOps Engineer, the work youll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customer. You will play a crucial role in engineering a modernization effort to converge our customers authoring, dissemination, and other supporting tools.
WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The DevOps Engineer must have:
Education: Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Experience: 15+ years of related experience
Technical skills: A strong DevOps background will be needed to deploy applications, install and configure complex software, manage network servers and technology tools, monitor and maintain the system for required levels of performance and trouble shoot issues and outages.
Security clearance level: TS/SCI w/Poly
US citizenship required
Role requirements: Candidates must have experience with:

  • Linux

  • AWS, MASH, and VMs

  • Docker Swarm

  • Deployments of distributed web applications (e.g. GitLab CI/CD)

  • Terraform scripting and VM provisioning

  • Ansible scripting and development

  • Thorough understanding of Docker & Docker Compose container technology

  • Git

Desired experience includes:

  • Python scripting and development

  • NiFi maintenance and configuration

  • Elasticsearch maintenance and configuration

  • Java / Spring Boot (troubleshooting error logs)

  • HAProxy

  • MongoDB

Candidates will be required to work a rotating pager schedule for emergency 24/7 call-in support as required (roughly 1 week out of every 4-6 weeks). Staff may charge 4 additional hours for the week they are on call in addition to hours worked.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $164,382 - $212,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
