Job description

Job Summary

The primary role of the Maintenance Worker is to monitor the physical grounds of assigned program sites for which Homefull has maintenance responsibilities and ensure facility repairs are occurring. The Maintenance Worker will work under the Director of Operations, Director of Facilities and other administrators to ensure that maintenance needs are addressed in a timely and professional manner.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Conducting general maintenance of Homefull facilities including carpentry, drywall, painting, general cleaning and repairs;
  • Preparing units/shelter spaces after move out in a timely manner;
  • Preventative maintenance and inspection of Homefull facilities on a regular basis;
  • Providing direction and assistance to outside service vendors for specialized repairs;
  • Maintaining grounds and common areas including dusting, vacuuming, landscaping, trash pickup, and general cleaning;
  • Maintaining current records using an online property management system;
  • Completing work orders according to policy and procedure;
  • Operating in a safe manner according the OSHA and organizational guidelines, Material Safety Data Sheets, and other safety protocols;
  • Assisting with the coordination of fleet maintenance including preventative maintenance, urgent repairs, vehicle cleaning, etc.
  • Communicating effectively with management on repairs, anticipated maintenance issues, and other related items.
  • Adhering to fair housing standards and local codes;
  • Representing Homefull in a professional manner, showing dignity and respect to others;
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with tenants, external vendors and contractors;
  • Assisting with emergency repairs (or coordination of them) as needed including nights and/or weekends;
  • Completing other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the organization.

Minimum Requirements

Previous building maintenance experience preferred. Knowledge of general maintenance and janitorial equipment and tools. Valid driver license and reliable transportation needed. Additional licensure or training given consideration.


Abilities Required

Good mechanical and problem-solving skills. Well organized and the ability to complete tasks in a timely and complete manner. Computer literate and able to update work orders in property management software and communicate effectively using electronic means such as email, text messaging, etc.
