Job description

Salaried/FLSA-Exempt Full Time (40hrs/wk)

Position Summary: The Finance Director is responsible for direct supervision of the Finance Department and Income Tax Division; the incumbent is the Chief Financial Officer of City operations. Direct and control all the financial and treasury affairs of the City; managing revenues, expenditures, investments, accounting, budget, debt and financial reporting.

Critical Skills
  • Reports on financial matters
  • Certifies availability of funds
  • Prepared the City’s budgets
  • Monitors City payroll
  • Monitors City investments
  • Represents the City on the Property and Liability Insurance Public Entity Pool and also serves as one of the City’s representatives on the health insurance pool
  • Countersigns all debt issuances
  • Negotiates financial and union contracts

Experience & Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field and extensive accounting/financial management experience required; considerable accounting/financial management experience in the public sector and considerable supervisory experience preferred.

Pay & Benefits: The salary range is $112,787 to $157,902 in Pay Band 12 of the City Wage Ordinance.
