Culinary Director

Location: Aberdeen, North Carolina | Dahlia Gardens Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation

Job Type: Full-Time

We are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Culinary Director to join our team at Dahlia Gardens Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, a member of the Alliance Health Group family of skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers. As a leader in the culinary services department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the high-quality meals and exceptional dining experiences for our residents.

About the Role:

As the Culinary Director, you will oversee the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing departmental budgets, and leading a dedicated team committed to exceptional resident care. Your passion for providing nutritious, high-quality meals and a positive dining experience will shine through in every aspect of your work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the dietary department to ensure quality food service and resident satisfaction
• Collaborate with dietitians and culinary staff to develop nutritious, appealing menus that meet residents' dietary needs
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations
• Manage food, supply, and labor budgets while maintaining quality and efficiency
• Monitor inventory levels and oversee purchasing of food and supplies
• Recruit, train, supervise, and support dietary team members
• Foster strong communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to promote exceptional resident care
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Current ServSafe Certification required
• Minimum of 2 Years experience in oversight of food/food related services, preferably in healthcare or long-term care
• Associate degree or higher in Food Service Management, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, dietary guidelines, and budget management
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties including standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday
