Position Purpose

Provide quality service and a full range of administrative and operations support activities which require a working knowledge of Company procedures and practices as they relate to assigned responsibilities. Delivery of accurate records, filings, and all information relating to the Plant Assets of Operating Company. Assignments must be completed in a professional manner at all times maintaining confidentiality of all tasks.

Provide exceptional service to local operating company while meeting the needs of both internal and external customers of Unitil.

  • Maintain internal records, work orders, reports and general correspondence applicable to Gas/Electric Assets.
  • Information updates into various systems such as TED, Complance Data Base, UPS, Transportation, Materials and Supplies, etc.
  • Perform various administrative activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services and information for both internal and external customers.
  • Assist with state and regulatory filings
  • Maintenance and assistance with all office equipment, ordering of supplies and catering.

Identifies and improves upon work practices and processes to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness of the department and other cross boundary functional areas.

Completion of special assignments resulting in enhancement, support, and/or resolution of present or anticipated issues affecting the quality of service delivered by Operations Services.

Responsible for the effectiveness of departmental controls; fosters an appropriate control environment including understanding and appreciation of critical controls, control activities, controls monitoring, risk assessment, information and communication.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Business, Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years of similar office/utility experience
  • Working knowledge of Company Safety rules, Company Policies and the Company’s Tariff for Electric/Gas
  • Project a positive and professional approach in all areas of responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated reliability and flexibility.
  • High degree of efficiency, organizational skills pc skills and detail orientated.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and software including: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Power Point) as well as other business applications.
  • May require working other than the regularly scheduled hours.
  • Must be available for duties during times of system emergencies.
  • Possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license based on the requirements of the State where the employee resides.
