Job description

A titre de Superviseur(e) - Operations, vous serez responsable de superviser un ou plusieurs departements au sein des operations d'un entrepot, notamment la reception, la preparation des commandes, l'emballage, l'expedition, la coupe de fils, l'assemblage leger ainsi que l'entretien general de l'entrepot.

Vous releverez directement d'un Gestionnaire ou Gestionnaire principal des operations. Vous serez responsable de former, d'accompagner et de conseiller les employes et pourrez superviser directement au moins deux employes ou plus.

Vous devrez respecter les politiques et procedures de l'entreprise en matiere d'operations, d'audit, de sante et securite, ainsi que toute autre politique applicable. Vous veillerez a repondre aux exigences des clients et contribuerez au developpement et a l'amelioration des processus et procedures.

Responsabilites
  • Coordonner les affectations de travail des employes afin de repondre aux exigences de service liees aux activites entrantes et sortantes.
  • Veiller a l'atteinte des objectifs de performance en matiere de productivite, de qualite, de service et de securite.
  • Surveiller le flux de travail, le travail effectue, les taux d'erreur et les indicateurs connexes, et prendre les mesures correctives necessaires.
  • S'assurer que les procedures sont respectees, mises en uvre et appliquees.
  • Verifier l'exactitude des processus de controle de la qualite et d'inspection, et veiller a eliminer les couts inutiles.
  • Maintenir un environnement de travail securitaire et s'assurer du respect des reglements en matiere de sante et securite.
  • Tenir a jour des dossiers precis concernant les heures de travail, les presences et la gestion du rendement.
  • Maintenir de bonnes relations avec les employes et favoriser un climat de travail positif.
  • Recommander des mesures appropriees en matiere de gestion du rendement.
  • Participer au developpement et a la documentation des processus d'entrepot.
  • Etablir et surveiller les normes de rendement liees aux differentes fonctions de l'entrepot, notamment la preparation, l'emballage et l'expedition des commandes.
  • Traiter les marchandises retournees.
  • Etablir et surveiller les normes de rendement liees a l'utilisation de l'equipement, a l'assemblage, a l'entretien general de l'entrepot, etc.
  • Developper et mettre en uvre des programmes de formation et de certification et s'assurer que les employes de l'entrepot recoivent la formation necessaire.
Qualifications
  • Diplome d'etudes secondaires ou equivalent requis.
  • Certification de conduite de chariot elevateur consideree comme un atout.
  • Minimum de 3 annees d'experience dans les operations d'entrepot et de distribution.
  • Minimum de 1 annee d'experience en supervision ou en direction d'employes d'entrepot.
  • Capacite a conduire un chariot elevateur ou a obtenir une certification de conduite de chariot elevateur.
  • Bonne connaissance des processus de controle des stocks.
  • Connaissance des produits electriques, de construction ou mecaniques.
  • Excellentes aptitudes en communication et en relations interpersonnelles.
  • Excellentes competences en gestion du temps.

As the Supervisor - Operations, you will supervise one or more departments within a warehouse operation including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, wire cutting, light assembly, as well as housekeeping of the warehouse. You will report directly to a Manager or Senior Manager Operations. You will train, coach and council associates, and can have at least 2 or more direct reports. You will comply with operational, audit, safety, and all other company policies. You will focus on meeting customer requirements. You will contribute to the development of processes and procedures. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate employee work assignments to achieve inbound and outbound service requirements
  • Direct achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service, and safety
  • Monitor workflow, work completed, error rates and related metrics and takes corrective action
  • Ensure procedures are observed, implemented, and enforced
  • Confirm quality and inspection process is accurate and excess costs are eliminated
  • Ensure safe working environment and follows safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate time, attendance, and performance management records
  • Maintain positive employee relations and morale
  • Recommend performance management actions
  • Assist in developing and documenting warehouse processes
  • Establish and monitors performance standards for warehouse functions, including pick, pack, and ship
  • Process returned merchandise
  • Establish and monitors performance standards for equipment, assembly, housekeeping, etc.
  • Develop and implements training certification programs and ensures warehouse employees receive training 

Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required
  • Fork Lift Certification preferred
  • 3 years warehouse and distribution operations experience
  • 1 year experience leading warehouse associates
  • Ability to operate a forklift or have the ability to obtain a forklift certification
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control processes
  • Knowledge of electrical, construction or mechanical products
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to learn and use business planning systems
  • Resolve problems in a timely manner under stressful situations
  • Comfortable working in a team environment
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment

Physical Expectations: 

  • Work is physically strenuous and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds.
  • Work may require excessive bending or stooping. 
  • Employee required to climb ladders.
  • Employee required to use hand tools.
  • Employee uses heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.).

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan,subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
