Job description

Role: Matchday Operations Assistant
Organization: Tampa Bay Sun FC
Reports to: Event Operations Coordinator
Classification: Part-Time (Seasonal)
Duration: August 2026 - May/June 2027
POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Matchday Operations Assistant, you will support the execution of all Tampa Bay Sun FC home matches. This role plays an important part in ensuring a professional, organized, and efficient matchday environment for players, staff, referees, and fans. This role provides hands-on experience in professional soccer operations and live event execution within a fast-paced matchday environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with matchday operations, event management, and setup/breakdown for all Tampa Bay Sun FC home matches.
  • Assist with operational tasks from the home team, visiting team, referees, venue staff, and other departments.
  • Serve as a liaison between teams, referees, and operations staff to help ensure smooth and efficient matchday execution.
  • Assist with locker room setup and breakdown on matchdays.
  • Maintain organization of storage areas and operational supplies before and after events.
  • Quickly problem solve and adapt in a high-pressure matchday environment as circumstances change.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of eligibility requirements, knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary:
  • Must be able to pass all background and safeguarding checks.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Exceptional reliability, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to think creatively, problem solve quickly, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Able to be available during non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, and within a team atmosphere.
  • Strong interest in soccer and sports is a plus.
  • Ability to be flexible including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs.

Other Details:
  • This role is for the entirety of the season (August 2026 - May/June 2027).
  • You must be available for all home matches.
  • Must be local to the Tampa area, with reliable transportation.
