GENERAL INFORMATION:
Beacon Middle School
Girls Volleyball, Assistant Coach
General Description: 
The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the head coach to ensure that the head coach can lead the team, organize and implement game plans, and foster a positive and competitive environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the head coach and demonstrate an understanding of the sport.
Minimum Qualification
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required. Advanced education above high school is preferred.
Essential Responsibilities









  1. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance player performance.
    • Provide mentorship and support to players, fostering their physical, mental, and emotional development.
    • Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback.
  2. Game Strategy and Planning:
    • Analyze opponents and develop game plans and strategies to maximize team performance.
    • Make real-time decisions during games to adapt strategies as needed.
    • Lead meetings/practices when asked by the head coach to review performance and plan future games.
  3. Team Management:
    • Collaborate with the head coach and other staff to ensure cohesive team operations.
    • Assist with the selection of players
    • Ensure all players adhere to team rules, policies, and standards.
  4. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Maintain open lines of communication with players, coaching staff, and families.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture.
  5. Performance Monitoring:
    • Track and analyze team and player performance metrics.
    • Implement changes and improvements based on performance statistics.
  6. Administrative Duties:
    • Assist in managing the team's schedule, including practices, games, and travel.
    • Ensure compliance with DIAA rules and regulations.

  1. Knowledge
    • Must have knowledge of DIAA rules and regulations.
    • Must complete training regarding Title IX and Athletics.
    • Must complete Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Concussion Training every two years.
    • Must be familiar with Cape Henlopen School District's Policy 118 (Prohibited Actions of Employees) & Policy 551 (Electronic Communication & Social Media Policy).
    • Equity initiatives & resources that promote a culture of diversity and inclusion embracing differences as a strategic opportunity towards leading the District's efforts to build a culture of equality and embodiment for all students, families, employees and the community.

    • Must possess online, digital skills to maintain records and to complete evaluations of coaching staff.
