Summary:
  • The Assistant Area Manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of Southeastern Traffic Supply through the management of employees and equipment. The Assistant Area Manager will ensure the quality of standards by checking and maintaining traffic control devices and equipment prior to projects. This position reports directly to the Area Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Dispatch employees to assigned jobs with the proper equipment.
  • Direct rental and sales functions for the service division, supporting revenue growth and customer service initiatives
  • Supervise the assigning of dates, times, and resources for the scheduling of new projects.
  • Provide training of STS policies and procedures to team members.
  • Monitor and submit employee hours for payroll purposes.
  • Identify high performing employees for promotions and internal job opportunity advancements.
  • Prioritize safe work practices by distributing personal protective equipment (PPE) and verbally reinforce safety standards.
  • Assist with any other tasks as determined by the Area manager.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • 3-5 years of experience in managing employees and projects
  • Experience in the traffic control industry (preferred)
  • Ability to use advanced critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks and confirm completion.
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Excellent professional communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
