Position Summary
The Assistant Tennis Professional is responsible for supporting the Director of Racquet Sports in delivering an exceptional tennis experience for members and guests. This individual will provide high-quality instruction, assist with programming and events, help oversee daily court operations, and create a welcoming environment that promotes participation, member engagement, and outstanding customer service.
The ideal candidate is energetic, professional, passionate about tennis, and enjoys building lasting relationships with members of all ages and skill levels.
Essential Responsibilities
Tennis Instruction
  • Teach private and semi-private lessons.
  • Conduct adult and junior group clinics.
  • Assist with junior development and summer camp programs.
  • Develop lesson plans appropriate for varying skill levels.
  • Promote player development through positive coaching techniques.
Member Experience
  • Welcome members and guests in a professional, friendly manner.
  • Build strong relationships with members and encourage participation.
  • Assist with member onboarding into racquet programming.
  • Respond promptly to member questions and concerns.
  • Deliver exceptional hospitality both on and off the court.
Programming & Events
  • Assist with planning and executing:
    • Leagues
    • Social mixers
    • Club championships
    • Round robins
    • Junior tournaments
    • Member-Guest events
    • Charity events
  • Promote participation in club programming.
  • Help create new and innovative programming throughout the season.
Court Operations
  • Assist with daily court scheduling and reservations.
  • Help maintain proper court conditions.
  • Monitor pace of play and court etiquette.
  • Ensure equipment is organized and maintained.
  • Open and close the racquet facility as assigned.
Administrative Duties
  • Assist with lesson scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate lesson records.
  • Assist with billing and POS transactions.
  • Promote programs through club communication channels.
  • Help create flyers and promotional materials.
Safety & Facility Care
  • Ensure all courts are safe and ready for play.
  • Follow emergency action procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized professional environment.
  • Report maintenance concerns promptly.
