Job Summary:

As the Assistant Club Manager, you'll work with the Club manager on the success of your club. You will own sales performance goals and new client acquisition for your facility. Youโ€™ll work with each potential member to gain an understanding of their background, their goals, and what motivates them through their health journey. With that understanding, you'll build trust and work to identify solutions that help each customer realize a healthier life. The Assistant Club Manager is a passionate individual who seeks to help members and guests improve their lives through health and fitness. This person is responsible for managing day-to-day tasks, welcoming guests and members to the gym, selling memberships and training services, and leading staff to work as a cohesive unit. This role requires a considerable amount of self-motivation, leadership skills, the ability to collaborate and communicate, and the ability to influence others in a positive way.

Responsibilities:

  • Membership + training salesย โ€“ a large component of the assistant club manager role is centered around membership and training sales. Assistant Managers must qualify, inform, inspire, and convert leads to members.
  • Personal training โ€“ deliver pre-designed workouts to groups of 2+ members in an energetic and motivating atmosphere. Build fitness attendance and retain current members/clients. Support Club Manager and Trainers in completing fitness evaluations/consultations on all new members and training clients.
  • Day-to-day operationsย โ€“Assistant Club managers will need to take on some club operations tasks [running reports, cleaning, etc.] either daily, or as the needs present themselves. Ensure club is always a clean, inviting, and safe environment for all members. This includes support in cleaning the facility, handling membership inquiries and assisting members in any issues that may arise with their accounts.
  • Culture creatorsย โ€“ Assistant club managers love creating an environment that inspires members and guests to share their positive experiences with friends and family. They deliver top-notch customer service and aim to improve the lives of each person they meet.
  • Convert leads to members through daily follow ups, relationship building, ability to emphasize and follow through.
  • Responsible for outbound phone calls, sales and lead nurturing, converting delinquent accounts, member retention, oversight of cleaning and entire club operations, ongoing motivation, posting to Anytime Fitness social media

Qualifications:

Experience in the fitness industry is not required, but great communication and soft skills are. A good candidate for the Assistant club manager position is:

  • 18 years or older
  • Friendly, outgoing, and warm
  • Coachable, always willing to learn and adapt to changes
  • Genuine and honest team player with a great attitudeย 
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Available to work flexible hours [mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends] โ€“ we do not have normal 9-5 hours; must be willing to work evenings and Saturdays as needed.
  • Technologically savvy
  • Self-motivated
  • Good at managing time and schedules
  • Must be able to safely life and move up to 50 lbs. of weight, as you will be working in a gym setting.

Compensation: $17.00-$20.00 per hour based on experience.
