Genesis Custom Chemical- Plant Manager Casper, WY
We are a leading company in the chemical industry, seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Manager for our chemical plant. This role is integral to our operations, ensuring the productivity, quality, and optimization of plant activities. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the successful candidate will oversee and manage daily plant production, maintain equipment functionality, and support the introduction and rollout of new products through the facility. The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and consistent achievement of production goals. This role provides leadership to the Supervisory and Production Teams while partnering cross-functionally to support seamless plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Manage day-to-day plant operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Support the Maintenance Team to minimize equipment downtime and prevent work stoppages.
  • Oversee equipment changeovers, new equipment design and installation, process hazard analyses, and peer reviews.
  • Plan and support the rollout of new products through the facility.

Team Development & Management
  • Mentor and develop Supervisors and Production Technicians through hands-on guidance, coaching, and modeling effective leadership behaviors.
  • Collaborate with the Supervisory Team and Production Scheduler to create efficient work schedules aligned with customer demand.
  • Address performance and disciplinary issues promptly and consistently, ensuring accountability and adherence to company policies.

Production Planning & Reporting
  • Report daily production results, project updates, and operational issues to the Leadership Team.
  • Monitor critical raw material inventories and coordinate with Production Scheduling to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Assist the Inventory Control Specialist with cycle counts and related processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Facilitate clear and timely communication with Customer Service, Purchasing, and Logistics to support plant requirements.
  • Work closely with the EHS team to identify safety risks and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Maintain and enforce high standards of organization and cleanliness throughout the facility.

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to enhance process efficiency, workflow, and operational performance, and lead implementation of improvements.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of process equipment to allocate appropriate resources for blending and other production activities.
  • Apply general knowledge of cGMP/FDA and EPA guidelines to support compliance and operational excellence.
