What is an operations assistant remote?

Operations Assistants working remotely provide administrative and organizational support to ensure efficient business operations. Their duties often include managing schedules, handling communications, processing data, coordinating with different departments, and assisting with project management tasks—all through digital platforms. Remote Operations Assistants must be tech-savvy, self-motivated, and strong communicators, as they collaborate with teams and managers virtually. This role is essential for keeping workflows smooth and helping organizations stay organized, even when team members are not in the same physical location.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an operations assistant remote?

To thrive as an Operations Assistant (Remote), you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in administrative processes, typically supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with project management tools (like Asana or Trello), cloud-based collaboration platforms (such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office 365), and possibly CRM systems is important. Excellent time management, proactive communication, and adaptability are standout soft skills for this role. These abilities ensure efficient remote support, seamless workflow coordination, and effective team collaboration across locations.

Build a Long-Term Career While Making Communication Accessible
We're hiring today's Operations Coordinator to develop into tomorrow's Team Lead.
If you're energized by solving complex problems, coordinating moving pieces, and making a meaningful impact behind the scenes, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for. We're seeking a resourceful, self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced remote environment, enjoys taking ownership, and can confidently manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional service.
MT & Associates is a growing, woman-owned accessibility services company providing professional ASL interpreting, CART captioning, and communication access services. We partner with government agencies, universities, businesses, and organizations nationwide to deliver reliable communication access for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. Every assignment we coordinate helps create more inclusive experiences, and every team member plays an important role in making that happen.
Our mission is simple:
Making inclusion feel effortless so people feel fully heard, deeply understood, and genuinely connected in the moments that matter most
What You'll Do
  • Coordinate ASL interpreting and CART captioning requests from intake through completion.
  • Schedule interpreters and captioners for meetings, conferences, trainings, and complex events nationwide.
  • Manage a nationwide network of independent contractors, including assignment placement, availability, and ongoing communication.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, interpreters, captioners, and contractors.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts, urgent requests, cancellations, and coverage needs with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Recruit, onboard, and support independent contractors.
  • Monitor service quality to help ensure assignments are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Improve workflows, documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support workforce planning and resource coordination across multiple regions.
  • Collaborate with the team to continuously improve operations and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Support operational processes, including scheduling, billing, invoicing, and payment coordination.

What We're Looking For
  • Two or more years of experience in operations, scheduling, workforce coordination, customer success, client services, project coordination, event coordination, recruiting, or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership potential with the initiative to grow into a Team Lead role over time.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with customers, vendors, contractors, or service providers.
  • Comfortable learning CRM platforms, scheduling software, and business technology.
  • Highly organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Someone who takes ownership, adapts quickly, and enjoys finding solutions rather than waiting for direction.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in interpreting services, accessibility services, staffing, workforce management, healthcare, education, or event coordination.
  • Experience managing remote contractors or distributed teams.
  • Experience as an ASL interpreter or interpreting coordinator is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities or accessibility best practices.

Remote Work Requirements
Candidates must have:
  • Reliable high-speed internet suitable for video meetings.
  • A dedicated, professional home workspace.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team and participating in video meetings.

Benefits
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • 401(k)

If you're looking for a long-term career where you can grow, make an impact, and help improve accessibility for others, we'd love to hear from you.
MT & Associates is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
This is a remote position.
Compensation: $52,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
