Technician Maintenance I - 1st Shift - $28.00/hour - 7:00am-3:30pm Monday thru Friday

Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Technician Maintenance I - 1st Shift to be based out of Cartersville, GA. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this person will be responsible for maintenance tasks at the facility.

What you’ll do:

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work in a wide range of environments and safely perform nonstandard tasks with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve advanced mechanical issues with gear boxes, pneumatic systems, mechanical conveying systems, hydraulic systems, and a wide variety of other systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve advanced electrical issues with motors, drives, and complex electronics.
    • Advanced knowledge of PLC programs to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
    • Advanced knowledge of wiring schematics to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Perform PMs on a wide variety of equipment.
  • Ability to machine components to very tight tolerances in our machine shop.
  • Ability to fabricate components as needed utilizing welders and various machine shop equipment.
  • Actively participate in Atkore’s safety program
  • Cross train in different areas of the shop as required. Ability and willingness to operate equipment when needed.
  • Ability to install new / used equipment and instruct operators / production supervisors on proper operation of new equipment when installed.
  • Ensure all processes are carried out with the required use of safety controls and PPE
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

What you’ll bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Electric and mechanical knowledge and ability to demonstrate.
  • Positive attitude toward continuously improving and learning to increase knowledge
  • Formal schooling in electrical / PLC controls or equivalent on the job experience (preferred)
  • Ability and desire to learn the operation of various machines
  • Fluent communication skills, reading and writing (preferred)
  • Ability to stand and work a 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to operate forklift (preferred).

Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
