The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Regional Field Ops Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Developing production plans, performing risk assessments and/or warehouse audits. Leading projects as well as initiatives to ensure a just-in-time material flow from purchase to finished products. Works under minimal supervision. providing transportation support services to assigned plants, product divisions, branches and distribution centers regarding operational issues and cost/service improvement programs, working with carrier personnel in order to meet service requirements and to perform statistical analysis on routings and distribution methods.
You will:
  • Serve as first line of support to USAC plants for ocean shipping inquiries and execution, covering all modes including drayage to port and trucking to consolidation centers
  • Provide regional coverage and operational support across consolidation center sites and drayage touchpoints
  • Capture and communicate demand signals from plants and consolidation centers to support container, booking, and capacity forecasting
  • Assist with short- and medium-term volume forecasting to inform planning across first leg operations
  • Support drayage carrier escalations and assist with pool management coordination
  • Monitor first leg KPIs and flag cost or service deviations for corrective action
  • Assist with OSD processing, load plan coordination, and booking support as needed
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives targeting cost reduction across first leg spend
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP and WMS systems; support TMS data integrity
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with sites, traffic management, freight forwarders, and 3M stakeholders

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited university
  • 4+ years of experience in supply chain
  • 2+ Experience with ocean or air freight required
  • 2+ Experience with trucking and/or drayage operations required

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems; SAP experience preferred
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; comfortable supporting multiple plants and sites across regions

Work location:
  • Onsite in Maplewood, MN (working at least 4 days a week in office)

Travel: May include up to 50% domestic

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
The expected compensation range for this position is $95,750 - $115,750, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
